F1 2022 officially announced: trailer, release date, and info

EA Sports has announced the first information about the popular Formula 1 game. F1 2022 is scheduled to be released on July 1st for the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

EA Sports has officially announced the video game F1 2022.

The Formula 1 game for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC is scheduled to be released on July 1st. Those who pre-order the F1 22 Champions Edition can already use the game from June 28th. "We look forward to welcoming our players to the new era of Formula 1," said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.

Watch the trailer! The development team for F1 22 is said to have implemented a brand new tire model and combined this with an AI on-track rival that can adjust to your abilities. Alongside the new aerodynamic packages on the cars, the handling is “more true to life”, according to F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, Lee Mather.

"Alongside the real-world changes, we have updated the physics to accommodate the new aero rules and reworked the tire model, making the handling more true to life. With new and updated circuits, adaptive AI, 'F1 Life', and expanded gameplay options, there has never been a better time for players to take their seats and live the life of an F1 driver." The game should contain the rule adjustments for the new season.

"Dive into a new season where the redesigned cars and revised rules redefine racing," it says in a statement. "Live your own virtual F1 experience with new broadcast settings for pit stops, formation laps, and more."

Sprint races are among the innovations

The new race track in Florida, the Miami International Autodrome, is also included in the game.

The same applies to the F1 sprint races. F1 2022 also has VR compatibility on PC via Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. For those racing on PC, you can now experience a Codemaster’s developed F1 game in virtual reality using either an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.

My Team Mode and Career Mode return in F1 2022 with new features. The two-player split-screen, Formula 2, and online multiplayer are also still part of the game. More information about the game will follow in the coming weeks.
