Ubisoft has officially confirmed Assassin's Creed Mirage

Ubisoft has finally realized that it no longer makes sense to deny leaks and remove their content from the Internet and has now officially confirmed Assassin's Creed Mirage. Yesterday Mirage was just a rumor, this morning it's real in the form of a leaked image from the Ubisoft Store, and now it's reality.

Ubisoft has promised to share more about Mirage on Saturday 9/10 at 21:00 when they will also reveal more about the future of the series and the next Assassin's Creed games. "Assassin's Creed Mirage is the next Assassin's Creed game.

We can't wait to tell you more on September 10 at Ubisoft Forward: 9PM CEST | 12PM PT. #AssassinsCreed" says their official Twitter account.

According to leaks, Assassin's Creed Mirage takes players to Baghdad in a game modeled after the older Assassin's Creed titles, before the series went into RPG waters.

The main character is rumored to be Basim from Valhalla, which could be true judging by the picture. Young Basim starts out as a thief and then joins the company of Hidden Ones. The game should go back to the very beginning and give us that classic Assassin's Creed gameplay that we have enjoyed for years.

Confirmed by relevant journalists

Several RPG elements have been removed, such as the leveling system and dialogue selection. Eagle Vision also returns, but so does Loki. During Basim's story, we should learn everything about how Loki managed to possess Basim for centuries.

The allegations were confirmed by Jason Schreier and Jeff Grubb, with Schreier specifically noting that most of the rumors are true. "A person familiar tells me parts of this new Assassin's Creed leak are true (such as the name and the other stuff Bloomberg has already reported: spring 23, Baghdad, back to AC basics) and other parts are not ("multiple cities to explore")" posted Jason Schreier on his Twitter accunt.

The story does not end there, Ubisoft will use the Baghdad map for the remake of the original Assassin's Creed, and there are rumors that AC1 will be part of the season pass for Mirage.
