The famous game GoldenEye 007 is coming soon to Microsoft's Xbox console, as well as to Nintendo's handheld game console Switch. It is a remaster of the legendary game that appeared in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 console, and gamers will soon be able to play this game in 4K resolution on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
Additionally, it will be possible to play the game in a split-screen multiplayer mode. The game will be marketed by the company Rare, which has confirmed that the title GoldenEye 007 HD will also be available through Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online.
However, online multiplayer modes will be exclusive to the Switch handheld version. There is currently no exact release date for the game, but it is expected soon. "25 years after its original release, experience GoldenEye 007 faithfully recreated for Xbox consoles.
Includes achievements, 4K resolution, and a smoother framerate – even in split-screen local multiplayer! Coming soon to @XboxGamePass." reads the announcement tweet.

Those who already own a digital copy of the Rare Replay game compilation will receive GoldenEye 007 HD for free.
The statement on the Xbox Wire notes
"The classic campaign mode, transformative difficulty levels and havoc-inducing cheats will all make their return – as will the iconic split-screen local multiplayer mode, allowing up to four players to take to the couch in a battle of wits and skill." This game is long overdue, as it was supposed to appear back in 2008 on the Xbox 360, however licensing and copyright issues were a complication that prevented it.
The HD remaster was leaked last year along with the original single-player campaign and local multiplayer. This information comes as fans of the British agent James Bond celebrate the franchise's 60th anniversary. On this occasion, various events are held, all of which will culminate in James Bod Day on October 5.
Alongside the GoldenEye 007 announcement, Nintendo is also adding Pokémon Stadium, Mario Party, Pilotwings 64, 1080° Snowboarding, and Excitebike 64 to Nintendo Switch Online.
