After a series of delays, Hogwarts Legacy has finally arrived on the Nintendo Switch console, bringing the magical open-world RPG to a wider audience of players. The game, initially released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in February, expanded to PS4 and Xbox One in May, leaving Switch users eagerly awaiting their turn.

The Switch version's development faced numerous setbacks, initially targeting a release during the first half of 2023 before being pushed back to July and finally settling on November 14. Developers attributed the delays to their commitment to delivering the "best possible experience" for Switch players, ensuring the game runs smoothly on the console's less powerful hardware.

Hogwarts Legacy, set in the 1800s, takes players on an immersive journey through the wizarding world, long before Harry Potter and his friends graced the hallowed halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Players embark on a grand adventure, creating their own witches or wizards, choosing their Hogwarts house, mastering spells and potions, and developing their magical abilities.

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the best selling games

The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy is available for purchase now on the Nintendo Store for $60. A Deluxe Edition, priced at $70, includes the Dark Arts pack, featuring the Dark Arts cosmetic set and a new battle arena.

Considering the prices of video games in recent years, this is an affordable price for such a popular title. Despite its sales success and positive reception from players, Hogwarts Legacy was surprisingly absent from this year's Games Awards, failing to receive a single nomination.

The game's exclusion from the prestigious awards ceremony raised eyebrows among fans and industry observers alike. Overall, the release of Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch marks a significant milestone for the game, expanding its reach to a wider range of players and solidifying its position as one of the most popular titles of 2023. Considering the number of Nintendo Switch players, the popularity of the game will increase even more.
