In the course of his career, Fred Couples has been a part of the golf scene for many years, and has gone through a lot in his life. He has demonstrated throughout the span of his career that he has always been someone who dislikes hypocrisy and injustice.
Due to this reason, even today, he uses every opportunity that he gets to criticize those who do things that are wrong. It was only a few weeks ago that Couples referred to Sergio Garcia as a clown for criticizing the PGA Tour, and after that he joined LIV Golf.
After not wanting to respond immediately to Couples' statement, the Spaniard had finally had something to say about it a few days ago: “It's what it is,” -Garcia said for Sports Illustrated. "It's disappointing because I don't know where he's going with this.
But it's Freddy so he can say whatever he wants and then we can say whatever we want. I think at the end of the day his life is his life and my life in this case is my life. So, I don't think he should comment on what me or any of these other guys should have done because we didn't tell him what he had to do.
Even if I wasn't [happy with joining LIV], it’s my problem, not his”.
Sergio Garcia talks about his Masters' adventure
Garcia will soon appear at the Masters and the Champions Dinner. He does not think that there will be tension considering that PGA Tour players and LIV Golfers will be there.
"I'm going to feel fine," he said. "I don't have any problems with anyone, and I try not to make a big deal out of it. I'm going to be there because I earned it, because I deserve it, and I'm going to enjoy it. I hope the rest of the guys do the same."
