Deborah James fighting cancer: Just trying to find the diamond moments in the rough

Deborah James is still positive and optimistic, despite having the final stage of bowel cancer. There is a lot of support around the world for her, and yesterday she sent a message to her fans and those who follow her: “Happy Friday!

Feeling grateful to be able to enjoy another moment of sunshine on my face, and food that makes me smile!” she wrote, as quoted by OK! “Just trying to find the diamond moments in the rough - but when you look hard enough you realise they can still be there!

Thanks as always for your amazing messages and love. Have a good one”.

Update on her health state

Guesting in the "Lorraine" show, Deborah revealed how she feels. “I am doing ok, I am stable,” she said.

“I think stable is a good thing, I’m taking life slowly, not on social media too much and just spending time in the garden with my family. “It’s a much slower pace of life which is not what I’m used to physically I’m quite tired, but mentally I’m still a campaigner and asking people to check their poo”.

Despite the doctors' expectations, she exceeded their prognosis and we hope that she will overcome this disease. "I’m taking life day by day and I think just continuing to feel blessed to have another day, knowing that my time is living”.

“But at the same time if truth be told, I’ve already outlived yet again what I was told when I was sent home from the hospital so I think even I’m a bit surprised," Deborah said. "But I think it’s having that sense of purpose and campaigning and keeping me going”.

The Bowel Babe Fund is something she is most proud of. “It’s a legacy that I’m so proud to leave behind, when I’m no longer here,” she added. “But for the moment, I’m here, I’m alive and kicking as much as I possibly can and sending my love and thank you for all your kind messages”.
