On the eve of the New Hampshire Democratic primary in February 2016, she spoke at a pro Bernie Sanders rally, supporting his election campaign. One of the cornerstones of her speech, and of her social media activity surrounding him, was to counter Gloria Steinem's claim that young Sanders female supporters were involved in the election campaign only to meet potential partners.
