Dolph Lundgren, a giant of the acting scene, is experiencing difficult moments in his life. Known as the symbol of the 'macho' man in the 70s and 80s, Lundgren left a great impact on the younger generation. However, this popular actor is now facing problems.
Namely, a few years ago he was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and the matter became so serious that even the doctors told him afterward that the cancer had spread to the liver. “There’s a picture there I was going to direct and star in that was starting in the fall.
The doctor called me when I was in Alabama ready to shoot and said they found one more tumor in the liver,” -Lundgren said, as quoted by CNN “So I was like ‘Oh okay.’ At that point it started to hit me that this is kind of something serious." His fiancée, Emma Krokdal spoke in detail about the moments that followed after the diagnosis.
Lundgren started to face big problems. His mouth and throat got sore. After that, he was not able to eat the food he had been eating until then, and he lost a lot of weight. “His mouth got really sore,” -Emma said.
“His hands got sore, [his] feet, and he couldn’t eat anything warm, anything cold or anything spicy. So that was a struggle to get food down so he kept losing weight”.
Lundgren and his optimism
In those moments, Lundgren was ready to accept death.
He realized that he lived a beautiful life, that he went through various moments in his life, but his only bad thing was to leave his family. “I mean you kind of look at your life going ‘Oh I’ve had a great life,’” he said.
“I’ve had a freaking great life. I’ve lived like five lifetimes in one already with everything I’ve done. So It wasn’t like I was bitter about it- It was just like, you know, feel sorry for my kids and my fiancée and people around you”.
