After four years of marriage, Joe Jonas filed for divorce from actress Sophie Turner in a Miami court, claiming their marriage was irretrievably destroyed. Famous model Emily Ratajkowski addressed this with a TikTok video, subtly supporting Turner throughout the divorce.
With a divorce behind her, Ratajkowski knows what divorce means and how it affects those left behind. She clearly learned a lot from marriage. Although she found the experience to be difficult, she has also learned the importance of self-love and self-care.
Ratajkowski now knows that she has the power to make her own decisions and to take control of her life “It seems like a lot of girls are getting divorced before they turn 30,” Ratajkowski said in a video posted on TikTok on Wednesday.
“As someone who got married at 26 [who] has been separated for a little over a year [at] 32, I have to tell you, I don’t think there’s anything better. Being in your 20s is the trenches."
Emily Ratajkowski: There is nothing better than being in your 30s
Ratajkowski is obviously someone who believes that things like this are not 'the end of the world', and that it is a great opportunity for a person to broaden his horizons and better understand what he wants from life.
It must be admitted that this is a really positive way of looking at life. “There is nothing better than being in your 30s, still being hot, maybe having a little bit of your own money, figuring out what you want to do with your life [and] everything, and having tried that married fantasy and realizing that it’s maybe not all it’s cracked up to be”.
Ratajkowski congratulated divorced individuals who are feeling stressed by their divorces, saying that everything is fine. Despite not mentioning Turner by name, she shared the video just one day after Jonas announced his divorce. A joint statement on Instagram was released by the couple on Wednesday, describing the split as a "mutual decision.".
