Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, recently announced that she is in the early stages of treatment after tests revealed she has cancer, the BBC reported. In an emotional video statement carried by the British broadcaster, the princess shared that this was a "huge surprise" after "an extremely difficult few months".

Despite the challenging period, Kate ended her message with optimism, noting: "I'm feeling good and getting stronger every day." Although no details about her illness have been revealed, Kensington Palace has assured the public that the royal family believes in the princess' full recovery.

In her statement, the princess explained that in January, during the abdominal surgery, the presence of the tumor was not known. "However, post-surgery tests revealed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore recommended preventive chemotherapy and I am currently in the early stages of that treatment," the princess shared.

Expressing solidarity with others facing cancer, Kate stressed: "To all who are battling this disease, in whatever form, please don't lose faith or hope. You are not alone." In a public address, she highlighted the efforts she and Prince William are making to deal with this news and adapt to the new situation.

She especially emphasized the importance of properly explaining the situation to their children. "We needed time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis, in a way that was suitable for them and to reassure them that I would be fine," she said.

The family now needs time, privacy and space. In addition, it was announced that Kate would not be making any public appearances over Easter, sparking curiosity among the public who had been wondering about her disappearance prior to the news of her illness.

Various theories circulated about the reasons for her absence, but it is now clear that the reason was her medical treatment. The Royal Family also clarified that there will be no early return to official duties for Kate, providing support during this challenging period.

William canceled some commitments after learning about his wife's illness, and Kate's support is his greatest comfort. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also reacted to the news, praising Kate's courage in her statement and wishing her a speedy recovery.

"In recent weeks, she has been unfairly treated by certain media around the world, as well as on social networks. When it comes to health, she, like all of us, must have privacy in order to focus on therapies and her family," Sunak concluded.
