Yordan Alvarez extends his contract with Houston Astros!

The Cuban MLB player, Yordan Alvarez has shown his quality in MLB countless times and how important a player he is for his team (Houston Astros). Although in 2016, when he first came to the club, many criticized the move of the management, Alvarez silenced the critics and imposed himself as one of the main links of his team.

Now another good news for Houston fans: Alvarez has extended his contract with the team for the next 6 years and will be there until 2028. Alvarez could not hide his happiness after signing a new contract, and it is clear that he is happy in Houston and that he wants to spend the next year there as well.

“First, I want to give thanks to [owner] Jim [Crane] and [general manager] James to give me the opportunity to be here the next six years,” 24-year-old Alvarez said as quoted by firstsportz. “It just means a lot.

I’ve put a lot of work into this and to see the fruits of the labour means a lot”.

General manager on Alvarez extending the contract

Houston’s General Manager is delighted after they managed to reach an agreement with the Cuban.

He praised his game and everything he did for the club, despite the fact that many did not expect him to become a player like this. “Yordan is one of the most complete hitters in the game of baseball, his combination of plate discipline, approach, power to all fields and the ability to hit any pitch that is thrown to him make him an elite hitter at the plate.

Early in his career, many talked about him as a designated hitter. But through his hard work and dedication, he has turned himself into a quality player in left field. Combined with his hitting, this makes him quite simply one of the best players in the game right now”.

This will be an additional motive for him and we hope that he will continue with good games. Good decision!
