A young star in the American high school baseball universe, Cameron Robbins (18), drowned in the waves after he jumped into the ocean from the ship "Blackbeard's Revenge" while it was sailing around 11:30 p.m. in the Bahamas during the summer months.
The footage that has surfaced from the tragic event shows Robbins jumping from his boat into the ocean, without anything to protect him from drowning. His only clothes were swimming shorts. In such conditions, you have little chance to survive.
There was a state of shock among his colleagues, and the few who were more sober tried to help him by giving him advice on how to retrieve the buoy and get back to the boat. Nevertheless, Robbins took a turn in the opposite direction after drifting out of sight of the buoy and disappeared into the darkness away from the buoy, according to British media.
US Coast Guard
Over the course of days, the US Coast Guard and numerous agencies searched the waters with the goal of finding the missing young man. Late Friday, the U.S. Coast Guard officially ended the search for the missing person.
Around 11:30 p.m. on the night of the incident, witnesses reported that the young man jumped into the sea from the ship "Blackbeard's Revenge" in a bid to win a challenge game. This showed once again how much 'teenage' jokes can create a problem that was not needed at all.
A young life is gone. In the instance that the young man from Louisiana jumped over the side of the ship, the ship was near the island of Athol, located northeast of Nassau, an uninhabited island. The student was a baseball star and on the boat, along with many of his classmates from other Baton Rouge high schools, he was celebrating his high school graduation with dozens of other high school seniors.
A joke turned into a tragedy.
It is a great tragedy for each and every one of us. It is unfortunate that he could not survive the event, despite the fact that he was in his best years, with many dreams ahead of him.
