It is interesting to hear what Joan Mir has to say about Honda and their form this season. In spite of the fact that many people believe that Honda does not possess the quality that is needed at the moment, Mir is adamantly opposed.

Mir believes that their team is very good, and that they have the necessary quality to perform well. They have worked a lot on different aspects of the project and in the future, they should make a huge step forward. “It looks like we're in the s***, but we're closer to the best than it seems,” said Joan Mir, as quoted by crash.net “We are going in the right direction, I enjoyed riding this bike here."

Joan Mir on his team's progress

Joan Mir reflected on the aspects on which his team worked and achieved progress.

They have however not been able to catch up to the other teams despite everything they have done. Despite this, their confidence and faith are not shaken by this. Honda team feels there is room for improvement, and they still believe that it will only be a matter of time before they achieve greatness.

“We improved braking and cornering speed, but I have the impression that we are always lagging behind in making progress. Starting so far back is difficult, but I see potential." Alberto Puig, Honda team manager, still believes in Marc Marquez and hopes that he can show the form that graced him in previous seasons.

The Spaniard has shown his class many times, but somewhat worse results and injuries caused fear among some that Marquez cannot repeat his old successes. “We at HRC believe that his potential is at least equal to that of Rins, because they raced together in the same team for many years and you saw the results,” Puig said. We will see if Honda can really do what is expected of them.
