“The Power of Dog” bags top awards in this year’s LEJA (Latino Entertainment Journalists Association) edition, as the Benedict Cumberbatch-starred movie won the best picture, best director and best editor of the year awards from the LATAM organization. Later this weekend, the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association had announced the winners. Other major winners among 2021 films included Ariana DeBose, who won the best supporting actress award for “West Side Story,” while Disney’s Encanto won the categories of best voice or motion capture award for Stephanie Beatriz.
The film was named as the best animation movie of 2021

Looking into other awards, the “West Side Story” led the tally with 13 nominations, as Lin-Manuel Miranda had received the highest number of individual nominations for any person.
Lin-Manuel Miranda had had seven nominations. Aside from that, the LEJA jury board also had chosen Miranda as the winner of Latino Activism Award. John Leguizamo had been awarded with the 2022 ‘Rita Moreno Lifetime Achievement’ due to his role as an actively tireless force in the Latino community.
On top of that, Rachel Zegler won the Latino Breakout award for “West Side Story”. Here is the full list of winners.
