Jack Black returns as Po in new Netflix series “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight”

Jack Black has been set to return into “Kung Fu Panda” verse as ‘Po’ with a new Netflix series “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight,” marking off his return into the franchise for first time since the 2016 “Kung Fu Panda 3”.

Although, Netflix has yet to announce a release date for “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight,” yet, with the 52-year-old long-hailed American actor coming back in the driver’s seat, the series would definitively worth awaiting.

Besides, a press agency report has reaffirmed on Wednesday citing sources that Black will be back in the voice of ‘Po’ in “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight,” an entirely new Netflix original animation series created with DreamWorks Animation.

Nevertheless, the American actor, comedian and songwriter, has voiced the title character ‘Kung Fu Panda’ or ‘Po’ in three DreamWorks Animations alongside a few short films as well as a Christmas special back in the 2010s (Kung Fu Panda Holiday).

Though, latest move from Jack Black to voice for a small screen series has been utterly unprecedented contemplating the American star’s marked absence in small-screen appearances for the character including “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness” that ran from 2011 to 2016 as well as a sequel of the TV show that ran between 2018 and 2019.

Official synopsis of the latest “Kung Fu Panda” show is here. When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade.

Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons first and save the world from destruction — and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the wayJack Black-starred latest “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” will be executive produced by Peter Hastings alongside Shaunt Nigoghossian, while Chris Amick as well as Ben Meckler will be the co-executive producers.
