Anne Heche declared brain dead, still on life support, says representative

Anne Heche, the 53-year-old American actress who had been hospitalized since last week following an accident, was declared as brain dead, the actress’ representative said late on Friday. However, her representative also added that she was being kept on life support, as it remained still undetermined on whether her family would allow her organs to be donated.

The actress’ car had hit a building in LA Mar Vista. The car caught fire shortly after the accident. Followed by the accident, the American actress whose major break came in during playing as twins on a soap opera, “Another World,” had been in a comma.

“Another World” won two Soap Opera Digest Awards. The Los Angeles-borne American actress had two children.

On top of that, according to Anne Heche’s public representative Holly Baird, Heche is now “Legally dead as per Californian law,” adding that her life supports are still on, as it is being tested on whether she is a match for organ donation.

Nonetheless, sources familiar with the issue had said on condition of anonymity that her family have yet to decide on whether her organs would be donated. However, expressing grief over the death of Anne Heche, Baird said to THR in a statement, “Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend.

Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact”.

Anne Heche’s team have released an update about her health yesterday saying that she had severe brain injury and would highly unlikely to make it.
