HBO Max has been brewing off an option to take 36 titles off its streaming services as early as this week, a press agency report released late on Friday had unveiled citing unnamed sources contemplating the sensitive nature of the issue.
Nevertheless, while being asked over the subject-matter, a spokesperson for HBO Max said that the latest move from HBO Max to remove 36 titles from its streaming services was linked to a planned merger of streaming platform HBO Max+.
Besides, HBO Max said in a statement, “As we work toward bringing our content catalogues together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and discovery+. That will include the removal of some content from both platforms”.

However, followed by the reveal of the move, industry analysts were quoted saying that HBO Max’s decision to remove as many as 36 titles from its services would eventually assist Warner Bros to shrug off some of its additional expenses amid a landscape where heavy-weight streaming industry giants are flowing in a flurry of fresh liquidity every month in a bid to engender fresh contents.
