“Black Adam” tops domestic box office again with $27 million

“Black Adam,” the Dwayne Johnson-starred $185-million juggernaut excluding promos, appears to be well en-route to profitability coming into the second week after release, as the star-sprawled movie had topped the domestic box office again with a grossing of $27.7 million.

Nonetheless, following a raft of rancorous reviews, the film has had a below average hold of 41 per cent over the weekend. Still, “Black Adam” has generated an upsum of $250 million across the globe, looking likely to enter into a profitability by next week.

The Warner Bros comic book action adventure, storyline of which has evolved around Dwayne Johnson who pledges to alter the “order of power” in DC Universe, had received a rating of 39 per cent from Rotten Tomatoes, while Metacritic had rated the film at 41 per cent.

Black Adam tops domestic box office

As of Sunday night, “Black Adam” had received a $111 million in domestic ticket sales, while the film had received a $250 million across the globe as beforementioned. Lionsgate’s supernatural thriller “Prey for the Devil” made a $7 million debut, which has been well in an alignment with analysts’ expectation.

Unlike “Black Adam,” Julia Roberts- and George Clooney-starred romantic comedy “Ticket to Paradise” had a tantalizing hold in revenues coming into the second week after release, as the film’s revenues had dropped by only a 39 per cent compared to a 59 per cent drop in “Black Adam”.

“Ticket to Paradise” took second place over the weekend after “Black Adam,” while analysts had widely greeted “Ticket to Paradise” with Rotten Tomatoes’ critics rated the film at an average of around 60 per cent.
