Travis Fimmel, the 43-year-old actor known for his play as Ragnar Lothbrok in History Channel’s epic TV series “Vikings,” has joined the casts of “Dune” prequel “Dune: The Sisterhood” at HBO Max.
This would be Fimmel’s second show with HBO Max. The Australian actor has previously starred an HBO Max sci-fi drama, “Raised by Wolves”. The original “Dune” had had a grossing over $400 million globally.

According to the “Dune” prequel storyline released by HBO Max, the plot of the show is set about 10,000 years before the events of “Dune,” while the series would be based on a novel “Sisterhood of Dune,” written by Kevin J Anderson alongside Brian Herbert.
The official description of the storyline says, “the show “follows the Harkonnen Sisters (Emily Watson, Shirley Henderson) as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit”.
“Fimmel will play as Desmond Hart, a charismatic soldier with an enigmatic past, who seeks to gain the Emperor’s trust at the expense of the Sisterhood,” HBO Max added on its official logline. Aside from heavy-weight Hollywood and streaming industry faces like of Watson, Henderson along with Fimmel, the cast would include newbies as well such as Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Aoife Hinds and Chloe Lea along.
Aside from History TV’s “Vikings” that ran between 2013 and 2017, Fimmel led the casts in Legendary’s “Warcraft,” the studio behind “Dune”. Legendary’s reboot of “Dune” made a mesmerizing debut back in the October of 2021, while the prequel is expected to be released on November 2023.
