Johnson expresses grief over official title of “Knives Out” sequel
Speaking in the interview with the Atlantic over the weekend, Johnson said on his 2019 “Knives out” film, “I’ve tried hard to make them self-contained” adding that the only overlap between the 2019 original and 2022 sequel had been Craig’s character.
Besides, adding that he’s totally “pissed off” as he had to add “A knives out Mystery” in the title, the 49-year-old director said, “Honestly, I’m pissed off that we have ‘A Knives Out Mystery’ in the title.
You know? I want it to just be called ‘Glass Onion. I get it, and I want everyone who liked the first movie to know this is next in the series, but also, the whole appeal to me is it’s a new novel off the shelf every time,” Johnson added.
“But there’s a gravity of a thousand suns toward serialized storytelling”. While being asked whether there will be another sequel of the franchise, Johnson said, “I’ll keep doing it as long as Daniel [Craig] and I are having a good time.
I’ll keep making these as long as they let me”. Since the streaming debut of “Glass Onion,” the movie has been on top of Netflix’s daily most-viewership list.
