Golden Globe 2023: what are we left with after last year's disaster?

The Golden Globe 2023 edition, conducted by stand-up comedian Jerrod Carmichael, was supposed to cancel all the disaster combined in the last edition.
But it was only partially successful. Ok inclusiveness and messages oriented towards what the world wants to hear today, but quality has not always been rewarded.

An example. Already the exclusion of Rhea Seehorn from the list of candidates was frankly scandalous. Snubbing both Better Call Saul and its protagonist Bob Odenkirk, in what was probably one of the best TV series ever, is inexplicable.

Inclusion chapter. HFPA has long been embroiled in controversies related to the association's earnings and film voting, particularly regarding judging panel members. In fact, all the members are white people and mainly not up to date with contemporary cinema.

The American comedian was the first black presenter of a Golden Globe in eighty years of history and there was certainly no shortage of animated jokes on the matter. Although the situation, since the scandal, is going to improve more and more through improvements, tricks and new recruits.

During the ceremony, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also connected via video call, underlining that the war is not over yet, but assured that Ukraine will win without reaching a third world war. This is a new beginning, but above all it should be remembered that the first thing to reward is quality.

To win, without particular twists, is Steven Spielberg, with his autobiographical film, The Fabelmans, which was awarded as best drama film and obtained the award for best director, in the Drama section. Austin Butler is the best actor drama thanks to the performance in the film Elivs and Cate Blanchett in Tör for best actress drama.

Eddie Murphy and Ryan Murphy received the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Carol Burnett Award for Lifetime Achievement Awards, respectively. For Marvel, Angela Bassett, won for the best supporting actress category in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

There were really questionable choices here. The most important awards were won by House of the Dragon, for best drama, and by Abbott Elementary, for best comedy.
