Surely there is no fan of action movies in the world who has not heard of the British superstar Jason Statham. The world public certainly does not know that this famous actor was a member of the British swimming team for 12 years.

He had notable results and a bright career was predicted for him, it seems that whatever this man does, he will be among the best. He even represented England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games where he competed in 1, 3 and 10 meter diving.

He had good results in that competition too, it seems that he likes the water. However, this popular actor had no idea that it would one day help him, even in the filming of a movie, and even save his life. And it turns out those skills came in handy during the filming of "The Mercenary 3" in 2014.

In fact, according to his co-star Sylvester Stallone, the actor would have most likely died if he didn't have excellent diving skills. "He faced death. He was driving a three-ton truck and his brakes failed. He fell into the Black Sea and got stuck at the bottom.

If there was anyone else in that truck, I doubt he would have survived because we were carrying heavy boots and weapons. He would have drowned. But because Jason is an Olympic-level diver, we got away with it," Stallone told the Mirror in 2014.

Jason Statham also has superhero abilities in real life

Statham then confirmed that the situation was very serious. At first, he thought it was not that serious, but the situation was getting worse and worse. It seems that this actor, in addition to action films, also has the abilities of a superhero in real life, which probably influenced his brilliant acting career full of hits.

"I hit two cameramen and fell into the Black Sea. We were sinking. I had to get out because I was stuck in the mud," he recalled. Statham's instinct to survive was then awakened, so he pulled himself together and managed to climb out of the window and surface. Everyone was worried, and when they saw the famous actor emerge, there was general amazement and applause.
