Justine Triet's captivating courtroom drama "Anatomy of a Fall" triumphed at the European Film Awards, taking home the coveted title of Best European Film. Sandra Hüller's masterful performance as a writer accused of murdering her husband captivated viewers, earning her a well-deserved Best Actress award. Triet's exceptional direction, along with the film's intricate screenplay, led to further accolades, including Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Mads Mikkelsen, known for his captivating screen presence, has added another prestigious award to his collection with Best Actor for his role in The Promised Land. German actor Christian Friedel, who was recognized for his role as Auschwitz commander Rudolf Hess in "Zone of Interest", was also on the list of nominations for this category.

Lifetime Achievement Awards

Apart from the competitive spirit, the ceremony also celebrated respected personalities of the film industry. Veteran British actress Vanessa Redgrave received a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her lasting contribution to cinema.

The famous Hungarian director Bela Tar received an honorary award, in recognition of his profound influence on the film world. In addition, Spanish director Isabel Coixet, known for her moving storytelling, received an award for her contribution to world cinema.

Her film The Secret Life of Words, a touching love story that transcends cultural boundaries, serves as a testament to her influence on a global audience. The European Film Awards have huge significance in the industry, with over 4,600 members of the European Film Academy participating in the selection process.
