Chase Elliott once again showed what a class of drivers he is and achieved a win in Nashville. It wasn’t easy at any point, but Elliott showed mental strength and managed to achieve his goal. “I figured (the last caution) was coming but I was hoping not,” Elliott said for motorsport “Ryan (Blaney) gave me a great shove.
I appreciate him doing me a solid there and getting us out front. So proud of our team. “We had a setback there about halfway (he had to pit twice under caution for a loose wheel). But we able to get our Chevy dialed back in and get back in the mix.
It was a long day, a fun day. Thanks to the fans for hanging out. “We’ve had a pretty rough month, month-and-a-half. So, it’s nice to get back going in the right direction and getting a win is huge. To do it in a really cool city like Nashville is even better.
“Looking forward to that guitar (trophy)”.
Chase Elliott on his team
He is happy for his team that gave their maximum to get to this. The credit goes to everyone and most of all to Elliott. “We were able to work on it there a little bit after our penalty and got it going a little better.
So, just stuck with it. Thanks to everybody at Hendrick Motorsports, too. They’ve been working really hard,” Chase Elliott added. Kurt Busch was in a fight with Ellitt but he doesn’t seem to have approached aggressively enough.
Still, this is a good result for him. “I got soft on him. I should have been throwing some fenders and moving some momentum around. I just needed to stick with our strength and I messed up. The way that we’re running, a second is cool, but we’re here for wins,” Kurt Busch said.
