Daniel Suarez seems ready and mentally focused ahead of his first NASCAR Cup playoff appearance. “It feels nice, but honestly it feels normal. I believe that I belong here,” he said for motorsport.com “When you have a team like the one I have, I feel like it’s more like a must to be in this position”.
Trackhouse Racing had an interesting offer for him, which Suarez accepted last year. Many thought it was not a good decision, but... “The first time I heard about Trackhouse was on a piece of paper and that was exactly two years ago,” Suarez said.
“When I signed with Trackhouse, they told me everything they wanted to do and they told me everything that they were going to allow me to build for myself – to be able to build a team that I wanted, to build a team that I was going to be able to win races and championships with.
At the time I said that was going to be the best opportunity that I’ve had in Cup. A lot of people told me I was crazy. A year-an-a-half later, two years later; now they know what I saw back then”.
Trackhouse Racing plan
Trackhouse had an interesting project.
They put a lot of trust in him and knew that Suarez could fulfill their expectations. It turned out to be a great decision for both parties. "Justin looked me in the eyes and said, ‘Man, you have to trust me on this, we’re going to build something great and I want to be able to give you the opportunity to build a team around you’.
That’s something nobody else has allowed me to do before in the Cup Series,” Suarez said. “It makes a huge difference when you have a team for you, not a team that was already there. I’m just very happy to be in this position.
I’m very happy to that I crossed paths with Trackhouse and I feel like we have a great future ahead of us."
