Ross Chastain and his move in Martinsville is something that will be talked about for a long time. Ross drove the car along the wall in the final lap. No one could believe what Chastian was doing, but in the end, it turned out that he did a great thing!
Although there is a lot of praise for Chastain, his colleague Kyle Larson does not share the same opinion. Larson considers his move 'embarrasing'
“Yeah, and I’m a bit embarrassed that I did, but that was pretty embarrassing, honestly.
That’s not a good look for our sport. At all. I don’t know what you guys think; you probably think it’s cool, but I think it’s pretty embarrassing,” Kyle Larson said. Denny Hamlin had a different opinion.
He thinks that Chastain has found an excellent solution. “It was well executed. I didn’t think of it (as embarrassing like Kyle Larson said). These are the rules we play. You got to race inside these walls, and he found a way to do it better than us on the last lap,”.
Joey Logano reacted
Joey Logano was also in disbelief. No one could have expected Chastain to make such a decision. “It was awesome; it was cool. It happened for the first time. There’s no rule against it. There needs to be a rule against this one because I don’t know if you want the whole field riding the wall coming to the checkered flag,”.
Chase Briscoe believes that many wanted to do the same, but that Ross showed the most courage so far. “It was well-executed on his part. I think all of us have thought about that, just none of us have ever been brave enough to ever try it. I’m very curious to see what kind of hole that opens up,”.
