The motorsports and automotive community is mourning the loss of 17-year-old racing prodigy Federico Gutierrez, also known as "Fico," who passed away in a devastating traffic accident. His older brother, Max Gutierrez, was also in the car at the time and sustained serious injuries, but is reportedly not in danger.
Young Talent in the Making
Fico had been making waves in the racing world, particularly in the Mexico Truck Series, where he earned a reputation as one of the most talented drivers in the NASCAR circuit. He made history as the youngest driver to participate in the 24 Hours of Mexico race in 2019, at just 13 years old.
In 2022, he was named the top rookie in the NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series.
