Luka Doncic lets Suns hear it while they were getting blown out in Game 6

Luka Doncic was on the receiving end of trash talk in Game 5 of the series versus the Phoenix Suns but in Game 6 he made sure he was the one talking trash. The Mavericks were blown out in Game 5 as the Suns took a 3-2 lead.

On Thursday night in Dallas, the Mavericks responded well to a Game 5 blowout as they beat the Suns 113-86 to tie the series to three games apiece. Doncic, who scored a game-high 33 points in Game 6, made sure to let the Suns hear it while they were getting blown out in Dallas.

Besides 33 points, Doncic also had 11 rebounds, eight assists and four steals. "I like when people trash talk to me," Doncic said, per ESPN. "It gets me going. It's fun."

Doncic putting up big numbers in the offseason

Doncic has been averaging over 30 points per game in the playoffs but he insists he only cares about winning and not his stats.

"I don't care about stats as long as we win," Doncic said. "If we win, I'm good. The statistics don't really matter to me, but if we win, it's going to be amazing. I think we won this game on the defensive end, and we've got another game."

The Mavericks took care of the business in Game 6 but they will now have to beat the Suns in Arizona if they want to reach the Western Conference finals. The Mavericks are a loss away from being eliminated but their head coach Jason Kidd doesn't want to use the word "elimination."

"Elimination is I guess the word that you guys use, but it's just another game for us on this journey, and our journey is to win a championship," Kidd said. "Sometimes it ends early, sometimes you're able to play until June. I think he just enjoys the moment. He's not afraid of the stage."
