Draymond Green reacts to Heat players feeling disrespected by his comments

Golden State Warriors center Draymond Green said it was exciting for him to see that his words stung the Miami Heat. Before Game 6 between the Heat and Boston Celtics, Green said the Warriors would play the Celtics in the NBA Finals.

The Heat heard Green's words and came out determined to prove him wrong. In Game 6 in Boston, the Heat earned a 111-103 win to force a Game 7. After the game, Heat veterans Udonis Haslem and P.J. Tucket said the Heat were angered by Green's comments.

Anway, Green's prediction was right as the Heat lost Game 7 on their home floor. “It was exciting to know that people pay that much attention to my words and what I say. Wow,” Green said, per Marc J. Spears. “They really watched what I had to say and that motivated them? I’m getting better at this motivational thing.

That’s great”.

The Heat were not happy with Green

After a Game 6 victory, Haslem claimed Green "broke the code" with his comments.

“Draymond broke the code,” Haslem told Yahoo Sports. “You ain’t supposed to say some s*** like that. That’s disrespectful. He know better than that. He let Shaq peer pressure him into saying some s*** he ain’t got no business saying.

I didn’t sleep much after he said that. That was some bulls***”. When Tucker was asked about Green, he said his comments were funny. "It's funny," Heat veteran Tucker said of Green's comments. "We laughed. I thought it was funny because he knows better than anybody we still got to play the game.

Got to play. There's no guarantees of anybody winning in this league on a night-in and night-out basis. It's kind of weird to be a player and pick another team. I don't know." The Heat had a chance to beat the Celtics in front of their home but they failed to do so and now the Warriors will host the Celtics in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
