Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green has been living his best life in the past few days as he acknowledges that he had warned the NBA "not to let us win a f------ championship." This year, the Warriors returned to the NBA Finals and beat the Boston Celtics to win their seventh NBA title.
"This has been an amazing year," Green said, as quoted on ESPN. "I told y'all, don't let us win a f------ championship, and clearly, nobody could stop it." Green, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have spent their entire careers with the Warriors and all three of them now have four NBA rings.
Once again, Green, Curry and Thompson played a major part in the Warriors' run to the title. However, they received big help from guys like Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole and Gary Payton.
Green: Happy for the guys who won it the first time
"What brings me the most joy is seeing the guys who won it the first time," Green said.
"In your journey, you always want that first-time feeling back. The reality is you never get it again, and the only way to get it again is to feel it through Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Otto Porter, Beli, Moses, GP, you feel it through those guys and that's how you get that sensation again." Meanwhile, Curry showed love to Warriors arena employees at the pre-parade rally.
"We represent you guys," Curry said. "The life that you give us, the inspiration, all those things matter. That's what it's all about. Entertaining you guys, giving you something to cheer for, be passionate about. It's giving us the platform to go do things that haven't been done before in history and representing the entire Bay Area in the process. We're back, having a parade in San Francisco, so let's go do it."
