LeBron James offers high praise on stunning prospect Victor Wembanyama

LeBron James has offered a high praise for Victor Wembanyama as he feels the French prospect is just something different. Wembanyama, 18, is a 7-foot-4 center that can dribble, shoot the ball extremely well, and also play extremely good defense.

This week, Wembanyama's Metropolitans 92 took on the NBA G League Ignite. Wembanyama, who impressively went 7-of-11 from beyond the arc, finished with a game-high 37 points in his team's loss. Also, Wembanyama had five blocks and four rebounds.

James on Wembanyama

"Everybody has been a unicorn over the last few years, but he’s more like an alien. No one has ever seen anyone as tall as he is but as fluid and as graceful as he is out on the floor. At (his size), his ability to put the ball on the floor, shoot stepback jumpers out of the post, stepback 3s, catch-and-shoot 3s and block shots.

He’s for sure a generational talent. Hopefully, he continues to stay healthy. You can tell he loves the game. He was smiling a lot," James said of Wembanyama. Following Wembanyama's impressive performance this week, some NBA executives approached his agent and advised him to make Wembanyama sit out this season.

Bouna Ndiaye, who is an agent for Wembanyama, shut down that possibility as he underlined that his client is a competitor who likes to go out and play basketball. "NBA people are telling me to shut him down, and we are not going to shut him down," Bouna Ndiaye told ESPN on Wednesday.

"If we came with that kind of talk to [Wembanyama], he will look at us and say, 'What are you talking about?' He'll never agree to that. He wants to compete and get better. With Victor, it's basketball first and everything else second.

He was so pissed off that he lost." Wembanyama is widely expected to go as the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft.
