The Denver Nuggets basketball team continued their impressive season with another victory, this time against the Memphis Grizzlies. The final score was 105-91, giving the Nuggets their 19th win of the season, with 11 losses.
This victory was particularly notable due to the outstanding performance of Nikola JokiÄ, who achieved his 82nd triple-double in his career. JokiÄ finished the game with 13 points (shooting 6-12 from the field), 13 rebounds, and 13 assists.
The Nuggets dominated the game from start to finish, shooting an impressive 59% from the field and never trailing. They established an early lead in the first quarter, finishing with a +21 advantage. Aaron Gordon was the most efficient player for the Nuggets, finishing with 24 points (shooting 9-16 from the field), 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Bruce Brown also had a strong outing, contributing 16 points (shooting 6-15 from the field), 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Christian Brown added 13 points and 3 rebounds to the Nuggets' total. “It doesn’t change much.
You just got to be ready for the plays out of the huddle, but it didn’t change anything,” Braun said, per ESPN “Same mindset, I have come in to the same exact thing. So it’s pretty easy. I thought I was doing a good job on Ja and I looked up in the third quarter and he had 30,” Braun said.
“You’re playing for first place in the Western Conference -- meaningless in the middle of December — but that’s what we’re playing for tonight,” Denver coach Michael Malone said. “That team is a top five in offensive and defense, so we’re going to have to bring our A game tonight.
And I felt that Bruce, Christian, (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope), Aaron and Nikola did that”. Despite the loss, the Memphis Grizzlies (also with a 19-11 record) had a solid performance from Jaa Morant, who scored 35 points (shooting 12-26 from the field) and added 10 assists.
Dillon Brooks also contributed with 11 points (shooting 5-14 from the field) and 7 rebounds. Overall, it was a closely contested matchup between two talented teams, but ultimately the Denver Nuggets were able to come out on top thanks to their strong shooting and the impressive play of Nikola JokiÄ.
