The Miami Heat continued their dominance in the NBA, securing a hard-fought victory against the Philadelphia 76ers with a score of 101-99. Despite James Harden's valiant effort, the 76ers were unable to secure the win, with a failed three-pointer attempt by the star player.
Fumbled Free Throw Costs 76ers the Game
With the score at 100-99, the 76ers had a chance to take the lead when Jimmy Butler missed a free throw with only eight seconds remaining on the clock. This missed opportunity cost the 76ers the game, despite Butler's impressive performance, scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists.
"I work on that kind of stuff every day," Butler said via ESPN. "I love to play this game and I love to compete, but it's always much more fun when we win."

However, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said, "You have to expect things to be a little bit gnarly on the road. You have to weather a bunch of different storms. Sometimes you just need the ball to bounce the right way. Harden had a window there and was open, but we contested so many shots tonight that sometimes when you do get an open shot, you don't have a great rhythm."
Charlotte Hornets Secure Fifth Consecutive Win
In a separate match, the Charlotte Hornets secured their fifth consecutive win, beating the Detroit Pistons 117-106.
Despite their victory, the Hornets suffered a significant blow, with star player LaMel Ball suffering a fractured right wrist, which could keep him out of action for several weeks. "It's certainly disappointing because he's a major part of our team, and we felt like we were rounding the corner," said Hornets player Gordon Hayward.
The standout player for the Hornets was Terry Rozier, scoring 22 points, while Hamidou Diallo impressed for the Pistons, scoring 23 points.
