New York Knicks' Kemba Walker: It's pretty difficult, just so different

New York Knicks guard Kemba Walker admits it hasn't been easy for him this year as he has been struggling to find his role in the team's offense. Walker, a four-time NBA All Star, went scoreless in back-to-back games this week.

It was the first time in Walker's career that it happened to him. “We do have a lot of guys who can score the basketball. And we don’t play through me,” Walker said, according to The New York Daily News.

“So I’m just kind of out there – I’m the one playing off these guys. I’m playing off these guys. So I’m waiting for my opportunities. And I’m still learning where to be aggressive and things of that nature on this team.

I can’t say it enough, it’s different. It’s just different for me”.

Walker is not the main guy anymore

Walker was the guy during his days with the Charlotte Hornets. Walker also played a significant role in the Boston Celtics offense during his days in Boston.

“It’s pretty difficult,” Walker said. “It’s just so different. I’m in a whole different position and role. But yeah, that’s on me to learn how to play with guys and learn when to get my shots and it’s just taking more time than what I’d like”.

After several Knicks player entered the COVID-19 health and safety protocols, Walker averaged 26 points and seven assists in four games. “Nobody was on the court with me really. I don’t want to say nobody. But guys had COVID.

I was out there playing a lot,” Walker said. “The ball was running through me. It was different. That’s not the case right now. I’m not saying that in a negative way. It just is what it is”. Walker is trying to understand this position and get out of his crisis.

“I just go through it myself and learn myself,” Walker said. “It can be difficult at times but at the end of the day, it’s just a new challenge for me. Which is fine. I’ll find my way”.
