A.J. Brown opens on how he feels about DeVonta Smith

A.J. Brown is looking forward to lining up alongside DeVonta Smith as he thinks the Philadelphia Eagles have two No. 1 wide receivers. This offseason, Brown requested a trade from the Tennessee Titans and his former team accomodated his request.

During the draft day, the Eagles sent a first and third round draft pick to acquire Brown. After trading for Brown, the Eagles gave him a four-year, $100 million contract. The Eagles now have two very talented and explosive wideouts in Brown and Smith.

Brown is excited about playing with Smith as he thinks the two could be a dominant wideout duo. "In my opinion, Smitty is a wide receiver No. 1," Brown said, via the NFL website. "And he going against a cornerback No. 2, I expect Smitty to dominate.

Just taking pressure off each other. Even being on the same sides, so you can't really double. It's great having another great wideout besides you."

Brown looking forward to seeing how Smith plays in Year 2

Smith, the 10th overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft, had 64 receptions for 916 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season.

Smith didn't impress like Cincinnati Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase in Year 1 but Brown noted that Smith is still developing and he is confident he has what it takes to be a great wideout. "He's a really good route runner," Brown said of Smith.

"Guys early on in their career, like first year, Year 2, they're still developing and he can run every route in the route tree. Just a little [nuances], little things that, of course, that we all can get better at. And just keep tuning up our game and keep developing.

I think the sky's the limit for Smitty. So, I'm excited for him Year 2. I'm excited for the steps he takes."
