Saquon Barkley weighs in on possibility of Giants signing Odell Beckham

Saquon Barkley revealed he attended Odell Beckham's birthday party and indicated that he would absolutely love to reunite with his former teammate. Beckham, who the New York Giants' first-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft, is nearing a return from a torn ACL injury.

Beckham is the biggest free agent name available on the market and the Giants have been mentioned as one of the teams interested in signing the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver. Barkley, who was the Giants' top-5 pick in the 2018 NFL draft, played with Beckham for one season as in the 2019 offseason the team traded Beckham to th Cleveland Browns.

“I was able to go to Odell’s birthday and spend time with him and some other guys out there,” Barkley said, per Sports Illustrated.

Barkley: Beckham knows how I feel about him

“He knows how I feel and he knows how we feel in the locker room," Barkley noted.

In recent days, the Dallas Cowboys have been pretty openly pitching for Beckham to sign with them. Barkley was asked whether he noticed Micah Parsons and Ezekiel Elliott trying to lure Beckham into signing with the Cowboys.

“Yeah I saw Micah [Parsons] tweet something at him. I didn’t see the Zeke [Elliott] one, but I saw Micah tweet something at him. But he’s Odell. He’s a heck of a player and when he’s healthy one of the best players in the league, so why wouldn’t anybody want him," Barkley answered.

During Beckham's first stint with the Giants, his maturity was often questioned. Now, Beckham is a Super Bowl champion and 30 years old. Barkley feels it would be just right to have Beckham return to New York and won potentially win a Super Bowl with the Giants.

“It would be a great story to come back to the place that he was before and continue to build success," Barkley concluded.
