Chiefs coach Andy Reid provides injury ahead of Chiefs-Chargers game

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has revealed that wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and cornerback Chris Lammons will miss the Los Angeles Chargers game. On Sunday Night Football, the Chiefs are playing the Chargers on the road.

Going into the game, Reid named the Chiefs players who will be sidelined. “As far as the injuries go, JuJu (Smith-Schuster) will be listed as out, as will Chris Lammons. Everyone else was up and ready to go," Reid said, per Chiefs Wire.

Meanwhile, Mecole Hardman was placed on injured reserve on Thursday - which means he will be out for at least the next four games. “I think it’ll probably end up being short-term, but we’ll just see how he feels.

Right now, I’d probably tell you short term," Reid said of Hardman. When asked directly why Hardman is set to miss time, Reid didn't want to reveal many details. “I don’t have anything for you there. He’s just got to get through this," Reid said.

Andy Reid hints the Chiefs will give options to some other wideouts

In the absence of Smith-Schuster and Hardman, some other Chiefs wideout might get more playing time. “You’ll probably see the same type of rotation that we had last week or similar to that.

Having those guys in — (who were in) the second half — that’s probably who you’ll see. It’s good for those guys, though," Reid said. Meanwhile, the Chiefs own a 7-2 record and are sitting at No 1 of the AFC West.

On Sunday, they will be meeting the Chargers, their division rivals who own a 5-4 record. "You're right at the time where these games are so, so important. It's important for the Chargers, it's important for us, Denver and the Raiders, likewise.

So, that's the time of year you're in and you've got to make sure that you batten down the hatches man -- detail your work and don't leave anything uncovered there," Reid said.
