Tom Brady says the Dallas Cowboys are "a great team" and he respects them. Brady, 45, has never lost against the Cowboys. In his lifetime, Brady has a 7-0 record against the Cowboys. In Week 1 of the 2022 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Cowboys 19-3 on the road.
This Monday, the Buccaneers will be taking on the Cowboys in the wild-card round. "Yeah, they've got a great team. I've played them quite a bit over the years and I have a lot of respect for the organization, their history, a lot of great players" Brady said, per Sports Illustrated.
Can Brady stay undefeated against the Cowboys?
This week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about Brady's record against the Cowboys. Jones tried to downplay Brady's record against the Cowboys by suggesting that Brady's teammates in those seven matches also did their job.
"When you really think about it, we're not playing Brady. We're playing Tampa Bay, the team. And it's conceivable that we could make Brady not play well and get our tails beat by the rest of the team. And I'm not trying to be cute.
But we've got to go play the entire team. And this Brady thing has got to be sensitive. I know it's there and I respect that. Gives us a challenge to do something we haven't done before and that's beat Tom Brady," Jones said of Brady's record against the Cowboys.
In Brady's first season with the Buccaneers, the 45-year-old quarterback won the Super Bowl. Last year, the Buccaneers failed to repeat as Super Bowl champions after losing in the divisional round. Now, the Buccaneers are hoping to have a great playoff run.
In the regular season, the Cowboys had more success as they finished with a 12-5 record. Even though the Buccaneers finished with an 8-9 record, they still won the NFC South and will host the Cowboys as the winners of that division.
