Ty Johnson claims the New York Jets cut him just a month after urging him to have a surgery he didn't want to have. In March, the Jets re-signed Johnson. But then, Johnson suffered an injury to his pectoral muscle. The Jets medical staff apparently told Johnson he needed to get it fixed and Johnson agreed even though he initially didn't want to have the surgery.

On April 26th, the Jets told Johnson he was being cut. Nearly a month has passed since Johnson was cut and the running back has yet to find a new home.

"I've had some dark, dark days, man.

Went to New York. I told them, even before the report, I was working out and this is what happened. I saw the team doctor, he said, 'You need to get it fixed.' Flew out the next day. Come back happy that I got it done even though I didn't want to get it done.

That following Wednesday, you're out of there. And I was like, 'Damn.' But at the end of the day, I know I'm going to be alright. Just gotta keep going forward," Johnson said in an Instagram post, via CBS Sports. Meanwhile, this has been one of the biggest offseasons in Jets history.

This offseason, the Jets traded for former NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. With Rodgers on board, the Jets feel they are now a legitimate Super Bowl contender. "We've created a team that Joe and Robert have put together, a culture.

Last year we were just missing one part, it was obvious to everybody. Now we've got a defense that is special and now a quarterback," Jets owner Woody Johnson told Jets team reporter Caroline Hendershot in April. It remains to be seen if the Rodgers addition will indeed lead the Jets to a Super Bowl win.
