Davante Adams makes one thing clear about Josh Jacobs amid RB holdout rumors

Davante Adams says he feels for what Josh Jacobs is going through as he underlined that the Las Vegas Raiders need the 2022 NFL rushing yards leader to have a chance at winning the Super Bowl this coming season. After putting up career-high numbers in 2022 and being one of the most important parts of the Raiders' offense, Jacobs was hoping to be rewarded with a long-term deal this offseason.

But instead, Jacobs was franchise-tagged and then failed to agree on a new deal with the Raiders before the July 17th deadline. Jacobs, 25, is seemingly very frustrated with the Raiders and it is very possible that he will decide to hold out.

"If we really want to have a shot at winning the Super Bowl and having all the elite aspirations that we do, we're gonna need that guy. So I'm praying that we can still figure something out, but also understanding where Josh is coming from and trying to coach him through it at the same time.

I've been talking to him, we've been in his ear a little bit just trying to coach him through this process. I've been through it a couple times myself and I know what it's like to go back and forth about whether or not you feel appreciated," Adams said, via NFL Total Access.

Last year, the Green Bay Packers franchise-tagged Adams prior to the start of free agency. Adams made it perfectly clear he wouldn't be playing under the tag. The Packers then traded Adams to the Raiders, where the star wide receiver signed a lucrative three-year deal.

"For me it's helping and providing that counsel to anybody, I mean for me whether it's other guys in the league, my teammates, obviously Josh at this moment because this isn't an easy time to go through. You go from dealing with a team that you love and you want to be a part of for your whole career, and then when it's the business time this is when it always gets kinda awkward," Adams said. Also, Adams said he is hoping Jacobs and the Raiders can find a solution and everything ends well for the entire team.
