Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski has offered a high praise for Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Gronkowski's future in Tampa Bay is uncertain and the way he speaks about Burrow could suggest that he would be interested in joining the Bengals.
Burrow, the No. 1 pick of the 2020 NFL draft, has led the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance in his second year in the league. "I kinda like this young buck quarterback. He's in the Super Bowl now: It's Joe Burrow, man," Gronkowski said, via MassLive.com.
"I watched him in college. I just love the way he presents himself out on the football field. In the pocket he's just so calm and he just slings it out on the field."
Gronkowski, Von Miller praise Burrow
The Bengals are set to face the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.
Rams star Miller compared Burrow to Tom Brady. "I don't like making comparisons to anybody else. Joe Burrow is his own guy, but you definitely see shades of Tom Brady in this guy," Miller said. Burrow is one of the most confident young players in the league.
Gronkowski has noticed that and that's something he likes about Burrow. "I just love his swag, too," Gronkowski said of Burrow. "If I had to pick a quarterback it'd be the young buck Joe Burrow. He's killing it right now in the game." Brady, who announced his retirement from the NFL last week, offered some high praise for Burrow.
"I think (Joe has) some tools that I didn't quite have when I was his age. Super impressed by how he's kind of come into the league. … Two years into his career after a really tough injury last year (he) showed a lot mental, physical toughness coming back and having an incredible season," Brady said on the Let's Go!
