Patrik Laine delighted the fans after his return, as he scored 2 goals in his team's 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Laine had a good feeling about that game. "I can kind of feel it during the morning skate if I'm feeling good or not, and I felt like I was going pretty good this morning," Laine said, as quoted by nhl.com.
"So, I had good thoughts for tonight and I feel like right off the start our line was playing good hockey, and obviously had a couple mistakes every now and then. But overall, we played some good hockey. Just happy to get the win." Johnny Gaudreau talked about the importance of Laine as well as the tactics they used.
"You saw [Laine's] shot tonight, I mean, he could have had a few more. He's just got a great shot," Gaudreau said. "Other teams tend to try to stay on [Laine] a little bit more with a shot like that, so it gives me a little more time and space, and me and Boone [Jenner] can kind of create a little more time and space and try to find 'Patty.'
Dubois on his team: "No team goes 82 wins and zero losses"
Dubois believes that his team can learn a lot from this match. They will have to see where they went wrong and continue the season in the best possible way. "No team goes 82 wins and zero losses," Dubois said.
"We got chances. They had quick chances and took advantage of them. There were spurts in the game where we had momentum and were going around the zone. I thought the power play could have got us going, and it didn't. That doesn't help. But it's a long season. Like I said, you can't win all 82. And we've got to learn from this one."
