Carolina Hurricanes 5:4 San Jose Sharks: REACTIONS

The Carolina Hurricanes achieved a 5-4 win against the San Jose Sharks. Martin Necasa's goal 55 seconds into overtime was the key moment in the game. Necas is grateful to the coach for his trust. "When coach puts you out there, that's what you're trying to do," Necas said for nhl.com "We always feel good for the overtime, you have more space there.

It was a 2-on-1 [Friday and a] great play by 'Svech.' I just had to put it in." Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour was pleased with his team's performance. "Got your entertainment's worth, that's for sure," -Rod Brind'Amour said. "It was a great finish.

It felt like we were out of it. Obviously, our skill guys got it done." San Jose coach David Quinn believes that his team could have done much more in this match. "We've had a season of incredibly disappointing losses"-David Quinn said.

"I just loved the way we played for really most of the game. Unfortunately, we've got a lot of practice in losing games in this fashion. I am very disappointed for our players, because I thought they did a really good job. [They] deserved a better fate."

Nick Bonino

Nick Bonino was especially disappointed considering that they had the initiative in the big part of the match.

However, their mentality is what they have to work on. "We process this type of game so much," Bonino said. "We're in every game we play. We're in every game and we find ways to lose them. It's not good enough. I don't know if [we were] overwhelmed, [but] tons of guys in this room, we've played in some pretty big situations before." Aho is happy with his teammates who believed in themselves until the very end.

"We believe in each other, and there's no quit in this team either," Aho said. "We work hard until the game is over and obviously, that was the case tonight."
