The Colorado Avalanche won 4-3 vs the San Jose Sharks. Nathan MacKinnon was one of the best players on his team with two goals and one assist. He did not forget to thank his teammates. "Tons of amazing players on this team helped me a ton," MacKinnon said, as quoted by nhl.com "Obviously, I don't need to say the names, but everyone has helped me a lot throughout the season.
So, it's fun to get it for sure."
Colorado coach Jared Bednar is happy with his team's performance. They didn't want to give up for a single moment, and you could see the passion with which they wanted to win. In the end, it paid off for them."Huge two points, and I liked the way our guys played,"-Jared Bednar said. "I thought we competed hard right from the start of the game. Obviously things got tight in the third period, but we continued to play, and you know, we fought the puck at times.
I thought we had some guys, like a handful of guys, that struggled with the puck making plays or execution, but intentions were good. Competitiveness was good."
Davin Quinn on his team
Despite the defeat, San Jose coach David Quinn could be satisfied with his team's performance.
There were moments when they could have done more, but luck was also lacking. "A little bit of frustration, but really proud of the way we competed and the way we played, especially after what happened the last time we played these guys (a 6-0 loss at Colorado on March 7),"-David Quinn said.
"I really thought we came with an effort and a compete that we're going to need from here on in." Kaapo Kahkonen is happy because his team did not want to give up. "They got a fortunate bounce for the first goal, but I think we kept going," Kahkonen said.
"We never stopped playing throughout the whole game. There were moments where we needed big blocks or good sticks or whatnot from the guys, and they made those plays."
