Vegas Golden Knights win 5-1 against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3. They are currently in the lead 2-1. Jack Eichel is the scorer of one goal and he also had two assists. He showed how important he is to his team. However, Adin Hill, who had 24 saves, was also impressive.
"Gutsy performance by 'Hillsy,' that's not an easy thing to do," Eichel said, as quoted by nhl.com "I've never done it, so I can't really say how it is, but I'm sure it's tough. It's tough to see our starting goalie go down and be in the type of pain he was in.
You don't want to see anyone go through that." Laurent Brossoit had to leave the game due to injury. "We know what 'L.B.' has been through in terms of rehabbing (from surgery) and getting back to great playing form, so it's tough to see him get injured there.
But ton of credit to Hillsy coming in mid-game, I know he hasn't played a lot lately, but I thought he did a great job."
Jay Woodcroft shares his opinion
Edmonton coach Jay Woodcroft believes that every player had to and could have been better in this match.
"We win as a team and we don't win as a team," Edmonton coach Jay Woodcroft said. "This isn't done [by] any one individual. I keep coming back to it, but to a man, all of us can be a whole lot better. McDavid, the Oilers player, didn't have much to say.
It was clear that he was disappointed. "Obviously, not a lot to like about tonight," McDavid said. "I thought they were really good. You need everybody and I thought they played really well, and the rest of the group wasn't quite there." Darnell Nurse thinks that his team didn't do a good job defensively.
"We just didn't defend to the standard that I think we hold ourselves to at this point," Nurse said. "This time of year, it's hard to win hockey games and it's hard to win hockey games if you're not doing the right things in the hard areas."
