Tiemoué Bakayoko mistaken for a criminal: police point him the guns

Tiemoué Bakayoko, AC Milan soccer player and former Chelsea player, was the protagonist, despite him, of an incredible story, which happened right in Milan, in the Porta Garibaldi area. The Milan midfielder was stopped at a checkpoint by the police, and so far nothing strange.

What happened next, however, is truly surprising. Bakayoko was forced to get out of the car with guns pointed only to be searched. Immediately after the search, the police officers would have understood the mistaken identity, apologizing to the player.

Once the true identity of the French was recognized, the apologies came immediately. Too late, though. Passers-by who witnessed the scene wasted no time, first recording everything with their mobile phones and, later, posting the videos online.

Everything was captured by the cameras of other motorists waiting in line for the checkpoint. In the city there would have been a shooting between gangs of black boys and the checkpoints aimed at intercepting the fugitives.

This would have happened back in Milan after the friendly win against Cologne and valid for the Telekom Cup. So the Rossoneri midfielder was stopped by the police and searched by three agents.

Bakayoko's highlighs

Bakayoko holds the role of midfielder, but he can also play as a central midfielder.

His Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim described him as capable of recovering many balls and giving balance to the team. For Didier Deschamps, who directed him with the French national team, he is a complete, athletic midfielder who, in addition to defending, knows how to fit in and score.

According to Gennaro Gattuso, he plays the role of low top in an atypical way as sometimes he prefers to point the opponent and jump him rather than throw, thus creating numerical superiority. On 30 August 2021 he returned to Milan on a two-year loan with the right of redemption, thus remaining in Serie A.

During the first year of his second adventure in the Rossoneri he found little space, also due to competition in the midfield department, but he can boast of the championship victory.
