As a team, Chelsea isn't able to maintain good form for the long term. As much as the Blues fans were pleased with the victories against Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City, the draw with Everton again caused them to feel disappointed.
The former goalkeeper of Manchester United, Ben Foster, decided to post a video on his YouTube channel criticizing a Chelsea player for something that he did. Kepa Arrizabalaga is the player in question. As a result of Kepa's reaction to Everton's second goal, Ben Foster believes that Kepa's reaction should have been much better than it was.
‘Let’s talk about Everton’s equaliser because I think Kepa should save it,’ -Ben Foster said on his YouTube channel, as quoted by metro.co.uk ‘A top goalkeeper saves that.'
Ben Foster: You need to make those big saves
Ben Foster is aware of how important a fourth win in a row would be for Chelsea.
However, a draw could again damage the atmosphere in the team. 'This is a big moment, we’re in injury-time so if he saves that, it’s 2-1, three points, boom, everyone is happy. These are the fine margins but I think a top goalie has to save that.
It’s a slightly awkward one so I’ve got a bit of sympathy but you need to make those big saves. He fell a little bit short. I don’t think Kepa is the right guy for it, full stop. I don’t think he’s the long-term solution.'
The former United goalkeeper seems to have more confidence in Mendy. "I think at the end of the season either Mendy will get fit and get back in the team or they will need to go into the market and sign somebody. They spent £70m on Kepa by the way and £25m on Mendy, that’s almost £100m on goalkeepers.’
