Richarlison reacts to rumors that he led the players who wanted Conte to leave

Antonio Conte's departure from Tottenham caused real chaos in London. Many believe that the players turned against him and that the only option was to terminate the contract with Italy. Tottenham has had a lot of problems with (in)consistency this season.

The collapse of everything was the moment when the Italian decided to call out the management and the players at one of the press conferences. Even then, one could sense that Antonio Conte's adventure would soon be over. In the last few days, there has been a lot of talk about Richarlison as the leader of the players who have directed against Conte.

Given that the Brazilian did not have the trust of the Italian, and did not get too many minutes, it was somehow expected that sports reporters would start with such stories. However, Richarlison denied such things via his Twitter profile.

“Questioning and criticising me as a player for my performance is part of football and I got it,” he said. “However, telling lies about me, I don't accept! I’ve always had a lot of respect for Conte and for all my coaches.
He helped me a lot in my coming to the Spurs and, whenever we had a problem (even if it was public) we solved it based on conversation and professionalism - and this he [Conte] can confirm."- Richarlison wrote.

Richarlison on Antonio Conte: I didn't do enough for him to stay

Richarlison confirmed that he was not the one who took the stand against Conte. Even more, he wanted the Italian to stay. He didn't even forget to thank Antonio after everything.

“I wasn't a mutiny leader against him, it was quite the opposite. I'm sorry I didn't deliver as much as he expected of me and I didn't do enough for him to stay. When he left, I sent him a message thanking him for everything and wishing him the best cause that's what he deserves!"
