Sevilla sporting director Monchi; "We know how to help Anthony Martial"

Anthony Martial arrived at Old Trafford 6 years ago as a big Manchester United reinforcement. There was a lot of optimism regarding his transfer, especially after his debut in which he scored a goal against Liverpool. He seemed to have a great future ahead of him in Manchester.

But unfortunately he failed to reach his potential. This winter he went on loan to Seville and showed that he still has quality, but is it the environment that destroyed his talent? Sevilla sporting director Monchi explained what could be the reason ‘In these two weeks he’s been here, what I see is happiness,’ Monchi told The Times.

"When a player has the technical, tactical, physical qualities, what you have to do is touch the perfect spot for these qualities to reappear." ‘And we think we’re capable of finding this spot. Possibly it could mean more affection, more support, more trust; speaking more to him, for his family to feel settled, for him to feel important.

There’s not one model for every player – everyone has their needs.’

Lopetegui on Anthony Martial

Lopetegui is a phenomenal coach who has revived the careers of many players, and he has often brought in anonymous players who have shown their enormous quality.

Right now, Lopetegui wants to give Martial a chance and make him an even better player. The job will not be easy, but it is obvious that Sevilla knows how to do the job ‘He is a player who, like [Jesus] Corona, must have a great adaptation and demand over time,’ Lopetegui said.

‘I think he has played a good game, he has helped us in different positions. I think he can play both in a 4-3-3 for outside, as the only striker or as a second striker. He has that ability.’ We’ll see if Anthony Martial show his full potential right in Spain
