Tim van Rijthoven makes a sporting miracle in 's-Hertogenbosch

What happened in the last week in the Netherlands, in the 's-Hertogenbosch tournament, is unbelievable, especially as regards men's tennis. The 25-year-old Dutch Tim Van Rijthoven, wild card of the tournament and tennis player without any ATP victory, incredibly won the tournament by beating two Top 10 players, above all by annihilating in the final the new number one in the world Daniil Medvedev, defeated without worries in two sets.

The Russian himself, in some ways, appeared incredulous at the end of the match where he filled Tim with praise. The tennis player spoke at the end of the tournament and told what many now call a real fairy tale: "I'm still trying to understand what is happening around me.

As a tennis player I think about the next match, but like Tim and not a tennis player, I am trying to work out everything I have achieved."

The tennis player then continued: "This is all new to me, it will take time to get used to it.

It has been a dream week, first of all I would like to thank my team who helped me keep my feet on the ground all week. Thanks to the audience, their support has been incredible and it was good to hear that." The reporter asks Tim if at some point in his career he has lost hope and he undoubtedly replies: "Not at all.

After all, I'm here now. In the last few years I have wondered if it was worth continuing to try to be a tennis player. I'm glad I continued, today I can say it. Medvedev? I have great respect for him, he's a great tennis player, I've seen him on TV several times and now challenging him and winning against him is a dream.

This is all a dream, it was an honor to share the court with him. Certainly win many other titles and I, for my part, hope to be able to share the court with him again." Now the tennis player is close to the Top Ten and is currently number 105 in the world rankings.
